USCS
customers place orders for products to be shipped via
EDI, eUSCOLD.com, fax, or by contacting a USCS Customer Service
Representative. Many of the orders that are placed are
too small to fill a truck in terms of weight
and/or cube; these are termed less than truckload, or LTL orders.
Because LTL orders do not fill a truck, the
rate charged per cwt is very high and the cost to ship the order is
very inefficient. The USCS PDQ Program exists to minimize such inefficiencies. Our
Transportation Management System (TMS) consolidates LTL orders into truckload
shipments which offer better rates per cwt. Building smarter,
more efficient pools is our goal and allows us to pass
transportation cost savings on to our customers.
