Technology

Commerce relies on technology.

Advanced warehouse technology and integrated systems are essential elements that enable USCS to provide dynamic supply chain services. Since 1999, USCS has invested significant resources - both human and financial - to building the most efficient and secure information network available in the warehousing and logistics industry. And we are committed to the constant improvement of our network - adopting new technologies when they add value and efficiency for us and our customers.

A dedicated WAN (wide area network) is the backbone of our nationwide IT infrastructure. The USCS WAN employs the latest hardware and telecommunications technologies - delivering a secure, redundant and user-friendly environment. It also provides the platform for custom applications that enable USCS staff to manage facilities, transportation, product handling and customer service while simultaneously allowing our customers real-time access to information about their inventory, orders and transport. Business-critical applications for WMS, TMS, Internet access, Wi-Fi, RF Bar Code, RFID, voice-enabled WMS, and EDI are fully-integrated into all of our facilities.

To ensure the Business Continuity (BC) of our network for both internal and external users, our WAN includes High Availability (HA) redundant communications lines and network hardware. The USCS WAN is protected from viruses and hacking threats through network-wide anti-virus software and firewalls that are monitored and updated to combat the latest threats.
